What is Design Thinking process?

What is Design Thinking process?

Design thinking is a non-linear, iterative process that teams use to understand users, challenge assumptions, redefine problems and create innovative solutions to prototype and test. Involving five phases—Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype and Test—it is most useful to tackle problems that are ill-defined or unknown.

Why triangle is used in STL?

This format uses a series of linked triangles to recreate or reproduce surface geometry of the 3D model. The more triangles used, the higher resolution the 3D model will have. STL file is widely used because it is simple, light and easy to be handled by 3D machines and software.

What is STL in CAD?

STL is a file format commonly used for 3D printing and computer-aided design (CAD). The name STL is an acronym that stands for stereolithography — a popular 3D printing technology.

Why are prototypes useful?

By creating a prototype, you can actually hold a version of your proposed product and determine what aspects do its job and which ones need refining. This is your chance to gather more accurate requirements and obtain market feedback.

What is the first step of the prototyping process?

The first step in the prototyping process is to design the piece. SOLIDWORKS allows users to create parts from the ground up. If the prototype is a member of a larger assembly, you can bring the entire assembly into the software to see how everything will fit together.

What are the 5 steps in manufacturing?

Key points in the manufacturing process chain are subject to change, including configuration, ordering, commissioning, operation, diagnostics, and maintenance.

Can I sell my idea without a patent?

Yes, you can sell an idea to a company without a patent. However, the company needs to enter into a contract such as a nondisclosure agreement (NDA). Otherwise, they can steal your idea. Unfortunately, many companies will not enter into an NDA.

Is a prototype a working model?

A prototype is a basic working model, mock-up or a simple simulation of the product which leads us to create a minimal viable product to final product and variations. The main reason for prototyping is to validate the idea and this is the step in converting an idea to a real product.

What is prototype machine?

Prototype machining is a process in which a small number of parts is produced before a bigger batch is required. Businesses may do prototype machining for a variety of purposes, including seeing exactly what a part will look like when it's produced and testing to see if a part will work as intended.

What is prototyping in SDLC?

Prototyping is used to allow the users evaluate developer proposals and try them out before implementation. It also helps understand the requirements which are user specific and may not have been considered by the developer during product design.
